Surfing and music have always been a big part of my life and
Cutback is a perfect way for me to bring the two together. I
took up guitar out of spite when my dad wouldn't buy me a drum
set. He said they were too noisy. (I didn't ask why he didnt
think that about guitars.) I'm sure he regretted buying me a
guitar when my first band, also featuring Nicky and Rich, started
practicing in my garage. We'd surf all day then practice that
night. One of our surfing buddys, Joe, joined the band as lead
singer 3 weeks later and we've been making beautiful noise ever
since.
