Cutback plays Cocoa Easter Break
April 2006

Cocoa Beach, FL6:  The Florida Surfband, CUTBACK, played at the Sandbar Sports Bar & Grill in Cocoa Beach the weekend of April 14, 2006. The event was sponsored by SurfGuru in celebration of their 10-year anniversary as the area’s premiere website for surfing news and related lifestyle reports. In addition, Cocoa Beach’s famous EasterFest was in full swing with its second day of Surf Contests and other spring break activities.

Lacy M, aka Buddha and founder of SurfGuru.com,  was emcee for the nights events. Buddha was sporting his new logo on SurfGuru clothing and treated the audience to promotional merchandise from national surf manufactures as well as from local merchants.

Andrew Bunin, owner of the Sandbar, was host for the evening and kept the crowd happy with an endless supply of drinks and also well fed with his varied menu of fresh food specialties including his famous fish taco.

Of course the highlight of the day’s events was when CUTBACK hit the stage and treated the audience to four hours of classic and original surf instrumentals from their newest CD Hang 6.  Locals were particularly stoked by the sounds as two of CUTBACK’s originals, Shark Pit and Spanish House, were named after two local surfing hotspots. Fans from Tampa, Orlando, South Florida and Brevard County came out to support the band.

CUTBACK will be playing next at the DVD release party for Mark Wilder’s Diary of a Surfer on May 25th at the SoFi Lounge in Miami’s South Beach. Lance-O of KulchashokMuzik will be hosting his Jah Surf Night in tandem with the event.
